Let's Learn About the World!

Hi, we are Girl Scouts from Junior Troop 2307 in Austin, Texas. We are a group of 4th and 5th grade girls (10 & 11 years old), working on a project called “Paper Trails.” Paper Trails involves sending travel journals like this one to as many places as possible around the world during our school year.  We’re really excited to learn about the world like this, and we need your help!

1.     On the next page of the travel journal, please write the date, your name and where you live (town, state, country, continent).  How do you know the person who sent the journal to you?
2.     Please tell us a little about where you live.
·      Are there any famous people, landmarks or tourist attractions your area is known for?
·      What is the geography and climate like?
·      What are popular or fun things to do in your area?
·      Are there Girl Scout or Girl Guides there?
·      What else can you tell us about where you live?
·      You can even add pictures, if you like.
3.     Please send a postcard to the address below as soon as you receive the travel journal.  Be sure to include on the postcard the name of the Girl Scout whose journal you received. We will be mapping our journals’ travels as they move around the world.
4.     After adding to the journal, please send it to a friend or relative in a different part of the country or world, if possible, to continue the journey. If you are unable to participate, please just forward it on to someone else.
5.     Please do this as quickly as possible.  We want to see how many places we can get our journals to visit in 6 months!
6.     For more details on this project, or if you want to keep track of the fun, too, please visit our blog at www.Troop2307PaperTrails.blogspot.com.

All journals should be returned to the address below by May 15, 2012.
